Venmo personalizes your credit card UX

If approved, your card will be printed with your unique QR code on the front, creating a distinct card design for each customer. When it arrives, you can scan the QR code via your mobile phone camera to easily activate the card, or have your friends scan in the Venmo app to access your profile and send a payment or split purchases. Zelle in cash-strapped Venezuela

There’s a big impediment to digital dollarization in places like Venezuela. The U.S. Federal Reserve doesn’t issue a digital version of the U.S. dollar.

So, Venezuelans have cobbled an innovative way to digitally dollarize. They are using  Zelle, a U.S.-based payments network run by Arizona-based Early Warning Services, to conduct Venezuelan commerce. Early Warning is owned by Bank of America, BB&T, Capital One, JPMorgan Chase, PNC Bank, U.S. Bank and Wells Fargo.

Google Maps Payment

Google is rolling out a new way to pay for parking in Google Maps, which is live right now in Austin, Texas and will be available more widely in the coming weeks.

The new feature, which comes from a partnership between Google and parking app Passport, lets users pay for parking directly in Google Maps as they approach their destination. Users can either pay via Google Pay or go to a payments site in their browser.
