David Smoley, CIO of Flextronics and Brian Lillie, CIO of Equinix are leading along with Stanford Business School faculty a very interesting 4 day offering for senior executives about innovative uses of technology. The brochure is attached below or you can register and get an on-line version here.
I am one of the guest speakers and am presenting on the themes from The New Technology Elite. The publisher plans to send the first batch of books straight from the press to the class.
David explains the goal of the program :
“There is such a hunger these days for learning about how to create and grow an innovative culture, especially relative to enterprise technology. But there are not many learning opportunities addressing this need. Brian Lillie and I saw a gap here and have worked with Stanford over the past year to put this “Innovative CIO" program together. It was developed specifically to provide just such a unique learning opportunity.
The purpose of the program is to enable senior tech leaders to explore how they can build and sustain an innovative culture. The spirit of the program is to capture some of the “Valley” mentality for reuse in the corporate enterprise. There are some very interesting speakers and panelists lined up (authors, VC’s, tech ceos etc…) as well as Stanford’s outstanding professors and School of Design (d.school). The audience will be 40-50 top global tech leaders (CIO, CTO, VP) from Fortune 500 companies. The program even gets into areas like how to engage employees with novel technologies such as gaming.”
