Two brands which have made the world smaller - Skype with IP based calling and Boingo with its Wi-Fi hotspots around the globe - are coming together to allow for per-minute Wi-Fi access and for making it administratively easy by paying with your Shype credit. Initially only available to users of the new Mac client 2.8 beta, this feature will be built into other Skype desktop clients (i.e., for Windows) later on in 2009.
Costing 19 cents per minute (flat rate) users able to do
anything they would ordinarily do online (email, etc.). They are not
limited to just using Skype.
Of course, if you travel all the time, the monthly Boingo fee will likely work out cheaper
Hope the likes of Verizon/ATT are listening...
