"Second Life software for cell phones and IPTV devices could not only allow thousands of members to track the world's virtual goings-on remotely, but it could also open up possibilities for those who don't always have access to a PC that meets Second Life's stiff technical requirements."
Careful not to do it in New York...where officials are worried cell phones are jeopardizing your first life.
This was not only inevitable, but necessary. And I'm glad to see Linden Lab make this move.
Frankly, I think SL is a lousy platform, very user-unfriendly. Go to a SIGCHI conference and you'll see and hear about a lot of new concepts in metaverses and augmented reality, stuff that makes SL look childish and technologically backwards. But I give LL credit for doing the best they can. Since the next SIGCHI conference is in their backyard, I hope they'll be there in full force -- and learn a thing or two. And if they are, I hope I get a chance to give them some FTF feedback.
