The event floor at the W Fort Lauderdale where Descartes has its own and partner booths nicely laid out. All kinds of ruggedized mobile devices (the Honeywell booth had 4 form/factors on display) and telematics and other logistics applications on display.
Let’s face it – this is what the attracted the attendees to the booths :) Within 5 minutes of my taking this photo, the sushi boat was empty! Seriously, there is a definite sense of "community" here - lots of experience sharing among the participants.
Judy, one of the attendees by the Olympic size cauldron on the 4th floor verandah , taking in the salty breeze from the ocean. One of the W staff was telling me during turtle hatching season they are not allowed to light this flame to not distract the mothers from the beach. In background you can see some ships waiting to enter nearby Port Everglades, one of the busiest ports in the country.
You have seen mood lighting on planes. How about mood carpets? The W staff change mats in this elevator three times a day each with a different greeting.
