The Cognizant Community event this week had a day and a half for formal presentations. The rest of the time was meant for networking activities. I was impressed how much they managed to squeeze in. I was also honored to be on the same stage as a wide range of great presenters including:
Authors
- Prof. Andrew McAfee who spoke on “21st Century IT Calculus”
- Chris Meyer who spoke about his recent book “Standing on the Sun” about how emerging economies are changing the definition of capitalism
- Guy Kawasaki, very entertaining, on The Art of Innovation
- Prof Howard Zittrain of Harvard Law School about crowdsourcing - “Minds for sale”
- Captain “Sully” Sullenger who had me sweating with his first hand account of the miraculous Hudson River landing (in photo below)
Influencers
- Johanna Blakely of the Norman Lear Center who spoke about women and social media
- Gary Beach, Publisher Emeritus of CIO Magazine (who is writing a book on the subject) and Dale Dougherty, Co-founder of O’Reilly Media and the Maker Faire series of tech DIY events, who both spoke of the challenges of educating our next generation of innovators
- Bruce Rogow who presented from his 100+ annual IT Odyssey CIO interviews
and practitioners
- executives from pharma, auto, retail, financial services and other industries
- selected Cognizant executives
What a mind-stretching slate! I will post some videos as Cognizant makes them available.
