Some of the swankiest (and smartest) watches and jewelry - and related technology - are on display at the annual event in Basel, Switzerland.

Including the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona which has quite a storied history and romance associated with car racing and Paul Newman. A whole coffee table book has been written about the Daytona series

It is consistently one of the most searched for watch on the Internet and usually also for its fake cousins.

The one showcased at Baselworld is in 18 ct Everose Gold - that is 18ct gold/platinum alloy developed by Rolex.

The new Everose gold Daytona is amazing. I also really liked the new Deepsea, looking forward to seeing one in the flesh when Rolex begins shipping them out later this year.
